長屋桃子
島根県出雲市にてお椀を中心とした漆の作品を作っています。

漆といえば黒や赤の表現だけだと思われがちですが、実は多様な表現と表情を持っている素材です。現代の暮らしに合うような作品を作り、漆と人とを繋げられるような役割でありたいと考えています。


Momoko NAGAYA
Usually, when you hear the word lacquer, you imagine a world of black and red. That is what I myself thought, and I had no particular interest in the subject. But as a result of going to university in the city called Kanazawa, I met real lacquer. This was a world of not only black and red but of a wealth of colors such as yellow, green, and pink, made to glitter with mother-of-pearl and gold lacquer. I thought this subtle yet sound beauty was exactly the unique aesthetic of the Japanese, and at once became enamored of lacquer.

2005年 金沢美術工芸大学 工芸科 入学
2007年 美大祭コンペ 箔会賞 受賞
2008年 高岡クラフトコンペ 入選
2011年 金沢美術工芸大学 美術工芸研究科 修了
2021年 島根県にUターン
2023年 島根県出雲市に工房を開設
